Back from the days when USAUltimate was named Ultimate Players Association they designed this disc. It’s an original Wham-O Frisbee – 175g of pure flying plastic. I like the comic dog – and the inscription: „Ultimate They’re beginning to understand“.
(3 votes, average: 4,33 out of 5) Loading... A disc from the Geneva Flying Disk Wizards, an ultimate Frisbee association founded in Switzerland back in 1984. You can read more about them on their homepage. This is the oldest Ultimate Frisbee Disc I own and bought 1994 from the team myself. In still in almost perfect condition – never thrown and no scratches.
Usually the Wizards organize the biggest European mixed tournament every year. They had no luck this year – rain made the field unusable.
I especially like the „wizards“ on the disc 🙂 Nice design with two print colors. Its quite unusual that white is a print color – must discs are white.
(7 votes, average: 4,00 out of 5) Loading... This is the last of the 3 discs (TeenPro, FiveStar) from Yikun sports that I own. It’s a special winter edition – that means the plastic material is more durable and soft. Best for playing at -20°C – +5°C. Normal sport discs get stiff and brittle and break in cold temperature. I saw an ultrastar disc same years ago break into more than two dozen parts when we played in Norway. Other companies also produce special winterdiscs (for example Daredevil).
I bought this disc at the WUGC World Ultimate and Guts Championships 2000 in Heilbronn from the Brazilian team at the trading night. I could not find any information’s on the Internet about that disc. It has a discraft ultrastar like shape and weight.
